At "Anxious Hong Kong," our mission is to prioritise the mental health of our club members. To achieve this, we offer various mental health services, including 1-on-1 guided self-help treatment, individual Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation groups, and virtual reality exposure therapy.
Our team of psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychological wellbeing officers work hard to provide necessary resources and support to our club members in the pursuit of their well-being. The manner in which these services are provided may vary and can be carried out through video calls, phone calls, or text.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle.
CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. Unlike some other talking treatments, CBT deals with your current problems, rather than focusing on issues from your past.

learning about and understanding mental health and wellbeing. It’s similar to physical education, where you learn about how your body works, how to look after it and the impacts of different strains or stressors - but instead you apply this to the mind. In fact, by being on this page you are practising psychoeducation!
1-on-1 Guided Self-Help Treatment
We provided 1-on-1 sessions of guided self-help treatment which could be carried out via video call, phone call or face-to-face. Our psychological well-being officer will first assess your emotional distresses and co-decide the most suitable method with you. In later sessions, they will assist you to use the self-help tools.
We provide 1-on-1 psychotherapy sessions for members who are suffering from mild to severe anxiety disorders and mood disorders. Integrating the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy , members who suffer from mild to severe level of emotional distresses will also benefit from this service.
We provide psychotherapy groups leading by registered counsellor and psychologist targeting people with severe or complicated mood disorders.
We provide psychoeducation courses on how to deal with stress, anxiety and insomnia. Leveraging on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy, people who suffer from mild to medium level of emotional distresses could learn more about causes and influences of the problems as well as some systematic ways to handle them.
We provide Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) for our members. It is a form of exposure therapy that uses technology. Exposure therapy seeks to help decrease the intensity of the stress responses you might have to situations, thoughts, or memories which provoke anxiety or fear. In a controlled and safe environment you are exposed to your PTSD triggers.
We provide an asynchronous way for our members to access our mental health professional via a mobile device or computer. You don't have to wait until you have an appointment with your therapist to share with them or seek counsel. When you feel the need, help is literally just a text away.
